Yu-Ann Wang Madan has built her career at the intersection of social impact and technology. Her journey with large language models (LLMs) and GPT began in 2020 as a COVID-era hobby, when she enrolled in AI classes at Stanford. For her final project, she had the opportunity to experiment with LLMs (GPT-2!) and business solutions for Vivino, a wine app company—a pivotal moment that sparked her passion for the transformative potential of AI.

In 2023, Yu-Ann founded her consulting firm, Sealai, with the conviction that LLMs and AI can revolutionize the daily operations of social impact organizations. As a consultant for OpenAI's Global Affairs social impact team, she gained firsthand experience addressing organizational pain points and building demos tailored to philanthropic needs.

Before starting her consultancy, Yu-Ann was a Senior Strategy Principal at Google X, where she conducted market and partner diligence for climatetech and other deep-tech projects in AI/ML. Her diverse professional background also includes roles as a product manager in mobile payments in Indonesia, a project manager at an electric vehicle startup, and a McKinsey management consultant. Yu-Ann's educational background include an AI/ML certificate from Stanford, an MBA from Harvard Business school, and AB from Harvard College.

Yu-Ann lives in San Francisco with her husband, daughter, and Shiba Inu.
